What did you do this past week?

This week was abysmally normal. I cooked, cleaned, did homework, had project meetings, worked on other projects, tutored, took an exam, played piano, and slacked off too much. I say it’s abysmally normal because I have not left the same 1000 square foot area in the past 336 hours.

On the bright side, I’ve been playing a new game that’s been pretty fun.

What’s in your way?

At this point in the semester, my own laziness. I’ve just overcome the biggest bottlenecks in all my classes this semester, so I’m very tempted to do literally nothing important for the next eternity. But alas, I have work that needs to be done! This — mixed with my newfound lack of motivation — has led to a spike in my procrastination levels as my sleep schedule slowly disintegrates into nothing resembling that of a sane person.

What will you do next week?

I will do much of the same things next week. Work, projects, chores, etc. Hopefully, I’ll squeeze enough motivation out of myself to actually leave my apartment to do literally anything while I’m at it.

On the bright side, another game I’m looking forward to will drop and I’m going play the hell of it.

If you read it, what did you think of The New Methodology?

I thought it was interesting to learn about the reasons behind the creation of agile methodologies, as well as other ones that influenced it. I’m already accustomed to it after my first few internships and using those processes in most of my group programming projects.

What was your experience of SQL?

I have heard of it many times before this class. After working backend for our project, I’ve started to gain some experience from searching online. Now I’m pretty happy to be learning about it in class.

What made you happy this week?

The game I mentioned earlier. It’s a rhythm game as well as the next story installment for my favorite game franchise (known for its wonderful music) so I’ve been having much fun playing along to the iconic score of the series. The levels of relief after completing the most difficult part of the semester is also refreshing.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I’ve found that adjusting the lighting situation around your workspace can greatly alter the atmosphere and mood. This has been helpful for when I want a slight change of pace and not feel as if I’m stuck in the same place 24/7.
